The all-new Mazda CX-30 gets revealed

After much anticipation, Mazda has announced that the CX-30 will finally be hitting the shores of SA. Since its launch in 2019, the latest 7th generation compact SUV has won several awards, including the 2020 Car of the Year in Thailand and the 2020 Red Dot Design Award. Mazda has positioned the CX-30 to sit somewhere between the Mazda CX-3 and Mazda CX-5.

In terms of the model line up the CX-30 will get offered in three derivatives, ranging from Active, Dynamic, and Individual. All models are offered in front-wheel drive (FWD) and will get paired with an automatic transmission. The CX-30 range will share a 2.0L SKYACTIV-G engine, which produces a power output of 121kW and 213Nm of torque.

The CX-30 will follow Mazda’s KODO design philosophy, with the exterior appearance getting a modernized and premium appeal. LED Headlamps with Auto levelling will be one of many new features available across the CX-30 range. In terms of wheels, the Active and Dynamic grades get 16-inch grey metallic alloy wheels, while the Individual grade comes exclusively with 18-inch silver metallic alloy wheels. As for exterior colours, the CX-30 gets spoilt for choice as it comes available in nine colours.

The cabin of the CX-30 will get a driver-centric cockpit, with the centre console and door panelling being carefully crafted to deliver Mazda's ‘Jinba Ittai’ ethos. The Active and Dynamic grades will come featured in a dark grey cloth seat trim, with black and navy-blue accents on the dashboard. The Dynamic grade will also come available in the optional greige cloth seat trim. The Individual grade will of course sit on top of the range and comes equipped with black perforated leather seats along with black and brown accents on the dashboard. Other features on the CX-30 will include an 8.8-Inch infotainment system that will offer both Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The CX-30 will come standard with Driver, Passenger, Knee (Driver), Side & Curtain Airbags.

The Mazda CX-30 will have a starting price of R469 000 and will come standard with Mazda care, which includes a 3-year unlimited kilometre service plan, a 3-year factory warranty, a 5-year Corrosion Warranty, and 3-years' worth of roadside assistance.
