VWSA ADDS A BEEFY CROSSOVER TO THE VIVO RANGE
The 2017 best-selling passenger car in South Africa, Volkswagen's Polo Vivo, has been expanded with the addition of the upsized derivative on a raised suspension, the Vivo Maxx.
The Polo Vivo Maxx is only offered in the hatch body version and boasts of number of exterior and interior enhancements over the run-of-the-mill Polo Vivo. The beefy looking hatchback offers a fun driving experience and a generous amount of standard specification.
The exterior of the Vivo Maxx features a 15mm raised suspension to 158mm, 17-inch 'Canyon' alloy wheels, front fog lights, silver coloured exterior mirrors, Maxx lettering on the tailgate and sides, a sporty single-pipe exhaust system with a chrome trim, and aluminium roof rails.
Much like the model it replaces, it has been endowed with a healthy entertainment, comfort and safety specification.
The interior benefits from sport pedal clusters, a centre console in coloured trim, an on-board computer, front electric windows, manual air-conditioner, a 3-spoke leather multi-function steering wheel with an aluminium insert, and a colour touch radio with SD/USB/Bluetooth/App Connect and 6 speakers.
Safety features include a driver and front passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a tyre Pressure Monitor, an immobiliser and central locking.
The Polo Vivo Maxx is powered by a 1.6-litre engine that makes 77kw and 153nm, and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Volkswagen claim it will do 6.5L/100kms, and run to a top speed of 188kph.
The Vivo Maxx tops the Vivo range and is priced at R225 000. A service plan is optional, however a 3 year/120 000km warranty is standard.
