Peugeot's all-new 3008 is mighty impressive. In the last year, it’s won the European Car of the Year, and was nominated as a finalist for the 2018 SA Car of the Year.

Equipped with the latest generation of Peugeot's driver oriented i-Cockpit, the latest safety technologies as well as radical good looks, the 3008 proves that it has what it takes to be a real contender in the fiercely competitive compact SUV market, going up against the likes of the Honda CR-V, Renault Kadjar, Toyota RAV4 and the Hyundai Tucson to name a few.

In January, Peugeot extended the 3008 SUV range with the introduction of a diesel-powered engine, to supplement its existing petrol version. The 3008 Active and Allure models now comprise of two engine variants, the 121kw/240nm 1.6 THP Auto and the 110kw/370nm 2.0 litre HDi. In Active spec, the HDi motor sends power to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox (incidentally, the only manual in the range). The oil burner boasts claimed fuel economy of 5L/100kms.

The Peugeot 3008 isn't cheap, but instead aimed at discerning buyers who want a premium crossover with a touch of individuality.

Pricing for the 3008 range is:

Peugeot 3008 Active 1,6 THP: R414 900

Peugeot 3008 Allure 1,6 THP: R459 900

Peugeot 3008 Active 2,0 HDi: R474 900

Peugeot 3008 Allure+ 1,6 THP: R479 900

Peugeot 3008 GT-Line 1,6 THP: R519 900

Peugeot 3008 Allure 2,0 HDi: R520 900

Peugeot 3008 SUV GT-Line+ 1,6 THP: R584 900
