Volvo South Africa has officially launched My.Volvo, this one-of-a-kind store will be strictly online and allow South Africans to purchase and rent a new vehicle in just 20 minutes. Of course, this will benefit the consumer in many ways as they will never have to leave the comfort of their home to pick up their new Volvo. The store itself is the first for Volvo in the Sub-Saharan Africa region and will be exclusive to South Africans only.
This however is not the first time Volvo has had its take in the online shopping field. Back in 2020, when strict lockdown restrictions were at their peak, Volvo took it upon themselves to launch their very first online store. My.Volvo will offer a smooth and secure vehicle purchase program. It has been designed to be very flexible and easy-to-use, as consumers will just have to follow five easy steps. Consumers will be able to have complete end-to-end service, from the very beginning with the vehicle selection, all the way through to the final purchase agreement.
South Africans are currently allowed to browse My.Volvo, seeing all the new Volvo vehicles that are available. From there customers can then select the Volvo model they want as well as the powertrain and colour, optional extras will be detailed too. Volvo has ensured that every type of buyer has been catered for, meaning that options from cash payment to renting will be available. Along with this, all vehicles purchased through My.Volvo will come standard with a five-year / 100 000km maintenance and warranty plan.
Greg Maruszewski, Managing Director at Volvo Car South Africa, says “We have accelerated the company’s move towards online sales. In 2020, Volvo Cars more than doubled its number of cars sold online versus 2019,” Going forward, growing online will be further expanded. “Volvo’s first pure electric car, the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric P8, will be coming to South Africa this year. It is one of a new family of electric cars to be launched in the coming years – all of which will be available online,” Maruszewski further added.
