Toyota Rolls Out Seven Innovative Models for 2024-2025

As we get closer to 2024, Toyota sets the stage for an exciting lineup of vehicle launches.

The journey begins in February 2024 with the Land Cruiser 70 Series launch. This classic has been rejuvenated with a facelift and is available in single-cab, double-cab, and station wagon models. A robust 2.8 GD-6 engine powers it and marks a first for the Land Cruiser series with its new 6-speed automatic transmission. Drivers will find an updated cabin complete with a modern infotainment system.

April 2024 will see the introduction of the Land Cruiser Prado. This model stands out with its square silhouette and modular design, making it ideal for those who love off-roading. It's built on the sturdy LC 300 platform and has a 2.8 GD-6 engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Prado will initially debut as a First Edition and will later be available in TX and VX-R models.

The Toyota Hilux 48V is set to make its mark in March 2024. This mild-hybrid electric variant adds an extra 12kW of power and 65Nm of torque, enhancing its performance. It also features Regenerative Braking and an Advanced Stop/Start system, contributing to its improved fuel efficiency by 5%. This model will be available in all Hilux 2.8 Auto Raider and Legend models and the Fortuner 2.8.

November 2024 will bring the Hino 300 Series Hybrid. This innovative vehicle combines a 4-litre Common-Rail Turbo engine complying with Euro6 standards and an electric motor directly coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It doesn't just stop at performance; safety is also paramount, with features like a pre-collision system, lane departure warning, and cruise control.

In 2025, Toyota plans to unveil the bZ4X, its first battery-electric vehicle (BEV). Based on the eTNGA platform, this model boasts striking styling accentuated by dark contrast fenders. It will be available in Front Wheel Drive and Dual-Motor All-Wheel Drive options, with the most economical model offering a 400km range.

Lexus, not to be outdone, is preparing to launch the Lexus RZ early in 2025. This first bespoke BEV from Lexus, built on the eTNGA platform, will exclusively offer dual-motor All-Wheel Drive. Performance-wise, it's set to deliver 150kW to the front wheels and 80kW to the rear, with a range of 375 to 450km. Lexus is also pioneering advanced Steer by Wire technology, which might be available at launch or shortly after.

Last, March 2024 will witness the Hilux GR S III launch. This model takes inspiration from the iconic Tundra, featuring a "Wide-Tread" body and a bespoke GR interior. The performance of this ultimate off-roader is a step above the regular Hilux 2.8, boasting 165kW power and 550Nm torque, promising both off-road prowess and polished on-road dynamics.

This lineup from Toyota and Lexus is not just a display of power and style; it represents a significant stride towards innovative and environmentally friendly automotive solutions. Car enthusiasts have much to look forward to in the coming years from these legendary brands.
