2021 Subaru XV gets launched

The Subaru XV crossover has gotten a whole new makeover, making a more stylish offering than before. At the front, the XV crossover has been updated with an updated lower grille design, the added contour will be recognizable around the fog lamps and bumper trim elements. The XV crossover will ride on sporty new 17 and 18-inch machine-finished alloy wheels, which adds an adventurous flair to its appearance.

To top this off, the XV will boast a ground clearance of 220mm ensuring that it is equally capable on slippery adventurous roads or just the plain old pothole-filled roads in the city. To ensure that the XV is equally striking as it is stylish, it will get an updated colour palette meaning that the Sunshine Orange will now make way for a new Plasma Yellow Pearl, while the old Quartz Blue Pearl gets replaced by Horizon Blue Pearl.

The new XV will also sport a revised suspension and spring rates, making it more comfortable to drive as well as have a better steering response. In terms of power, the XV range will get a 2.0-litre Boxer® engine that produces 115kW of power and 196Nm of torque. The engine will be paired with a Lineartronic CVT also allows for a 7-speed manual mode. Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-Drive) will also be found on the XV. It will be activated from buttons located on the steering wheel. The driving mode selector will ensure that the engine and transmission stay on its best behavior.

Inside, drivers will be treated to one of the most comprehensively specced vehicles in South Africa. It will come featured with a sunroof, X-Mode, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment that offers both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Voice-command, 4 x USB ports, and the award-winning EyeSight Driver Assist technology. As for safety goes, the Subaru XV has gotten a lot more advanced than before and will feature a Front View Monitor. How it works is that a camera is integrated into the grille, this will display a quality view of the front of the car to assist with moving in tight spaces. The XV will be equipped with Subaru’s Vision Assist suite of technologies which includes Blind Spot Monitor (BSM); Reverse Automatic Braking (RAB); Lane Change Assist (LCA) and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA).
