Special editions of the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque coming SA
Land Rover has found a way to cement its legacy within the SUV market. Their efforts to take the compact SUV by storm with the ever-appealing Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque have worked too. But like all brands and eager petrol heads, seeing special editions added to what is currently a favourite vehicle, always gives one a sense of excitement. Yes, Land Rover will be introducing a special edition of the Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque.
The new Discovery Sport Urban Edition will be based on the existing R-Dynamic specification and will feature distinctive design elements that include shadow aluminium finishers, non-leather Luxtec Suedecloth seats, and a black contrast roof. The Urban Edition will come available in six exterior colours ranging from Namib Orange, Carpathian Grey, Firenze Red, Santorini Black, Ostuni White, and Hakuba Silver. The Urban Edition will come featured with Land Rover’s latest technology, which includes a powered tailgate and ClearSight Interior Rear-View Mirror which switches seamlessly between a video feed and mirror.
Next on the list, we will be getting an Urban Edition of the Discovery Sport too, which will come with a choice of two four-cylinder Ingenium powertrains. Both will get paired with eight-speed automatic transmissions as well. The D200, which is the turbodiesel model will produce 147kW of power and 430Nm of torque, it can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 8.6 seconds. Those after a bit more power will certainly have their eyes set on the P250. This turbopetrol model will produce 183kW of power and 365Nm of torque, it will sprint from 0-100km/h in just 7.8 seconds.
A new Range Rover Evoque Bronze Collection Special Edition will also be available too. This will further add to the Range Rover Evoque’s exquisite design and interior. Outside, this new model will be is distinguished by its distinctive Corinthian Bronze contrast roof, Burnished Copper side vents, and exclusive new Satin Dark Grey 20-inch five split-spoke alloy wheels. It will be based on the already well-renowned Evoque S specification and will come featured will be premium LED headlights with signature Daylight Running Lights (DRLs), further emphasizing its luxury status. In terms of exterior colours, this special edition will come available in three colours ranging from Carpathian Grey, Santorini Black, and Seoul Pearl Silver. Inside, Natural Grey Ash veneers, unique Bronze Collection carpet mats with metal-capped corners, and Ebony grained leather seats will further highlight this special edition’s lavish cabin.
In terms of engines, the Bronze Collection Special Edition will come available with a range of powerful and efficient D200, P250, and P300e Ingenium petrol and diesel engines. The efficient P300e Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) will combine a 1.5-litre Ingenium three-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor for a smooth zero-emissions pure-electric driving range of 55km.
The Discovery Sport Urban Edition and Range Rover Evoque Bronze Collection Special Edition are planned to hit the South African market within the fourth quarter of 2021. Pricing will be announced closer to the time.
