Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TDI Highline DSG

Maintenance Costs R 0.00 / Year

Insurance Premium Value R 0.00 / Month

Fuel Consumption L/100km

The latest Volkswagen Tiguan is a real step up from the previous generation . In all aspects no matter how you will look at it you can see the improvement Volkswagen has done . From the Interior right through to the exterior . The Tiguan has grown wider and higher and although having said that it still has a little of stance when parked . I like how the new wider front has been designed to the point as to where you it looks more aggressive but at the same time quite calm , Volkswagen has done well in that area .

This car is perfectly fit for a family of four even five will do without any stress when it comes to practically . The boot capacity is quite reasonable looking at its competitors . When you speaking about space and storage this car is exactly that reason being in the front seats there's storage areas almost everywhere you can think of which the majority of its competitors don't have . This car does have key less entry although it is an optional extra . The car comes with a lovey huge 8inch touch screen infotainment , which is very easy to use and the graphic is nice and bright and the car offers apple car play and android auto . The car also comes with a digital drivers display although it's an option extra and trust me when i say it's with the extra penny . This car has think blue feature which helps you save fuel and it will give you all the information you need on how to save even more . This 4Motion feature on the car comes with a round nob which allows you to channel through the different driving settings to suit the surface which you driving on for example snow , mud and sand .

The drive of the car is great , you feel as if you sitting lower than you actually are . The 2.0 Litre gives you 130kW & 380nm which is amazing on this . This engine and the power output of this car just makes it a wonderful all-rounder . Perfect car if you want it to be your daily go around the city or even use it for long distances , its absolutely amazing and covers that part quite well .

I just love on how Volkswagen have upped their game when it comes to this specific car . Now when purchasing a new SUV in this market you going to have to think twice before thinking of heading to any other manufacturer . Really keen on seeing how the market will further treat this car over the coming years and how the durability of this car is till then we just going to have to admire and love this car for what it currently is .

Volkswagen Group Best Seller is desirable

On October 2, 2020

Maintenance Costs R 0.00 / Year

Insurance Premium Value R 0.00 / Month

Fuel Consumption 6 L/100km

Thee Most successful model in the Volkswagen Group and the best-selling SUV in Europe in 2019 with 38 percent market share in European Union and 3rd best seller in the world for first half of 2020, with 911 000units+ per year produced to date, 2,495 units per day.

Last year this model rolled off the production line every 35 seconds in one of Volkswagen’s factories in Germany, Russia,China and Mexico.

Non other than second generation Volkswagen Tiguan, world première of the first generation of this SUV took place at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt back in 2007.

Quite a mouthful intro isn’t it? I spend time with the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Highline TDI With Black Style Package, back in 2018 I spent time with the Highline 7 seater all space 2.0TSI with the EA888 engine straight from the Golf GTI.

However it’s not the case in here, this model is equipped with the Volkswagen Group 4 Cylinder Turbocharged 2.0L Diesel engine, potent with longer distance travel and efficiency ,engine worthy of 130KW/380NM of torque available between 1750 to 3 000rpm.

This engine is mated to 4 Motion all wheel drive system albeit the availability to rotary and touch screen switch between driving modes of Eco,Normal,Sport and Individual inclusive of off-road selection, all this channeled via a smooth shifting seven speed auto box.

If you pay Volkswagen R GmbH a fee they will give you 20 inch Suzuka alloys and paints them black, mirror couplings also turns black and door side strips running around the rear bumper will also turn black ,however I would have loved a complete chrome delete even on grille too and on fender R-Line nomenclature stealth.

The Volkswagen R GmbH Black Style Package also turns the sporty wing black ,creates a privacy window tint as well as black roof rails.

Locally the Volkswagen Tiguan range have been well received by the market and have been outselling it’s cousin Golf on a month to month basis, consumers in a global scale fancy the idea of a higher riding from the ground car.

Consumers want more space and versatility to fit the family needs hence there’s a huge popularity of these types of cars, talking about space ,this Tiguan is with a boot space of 520Litres with all seats up which can be extended to 615Liters with the rear seat pushed forward and 1655Lwith everything put down flat and there’s a plethora of pocket spaces for chucking in stuff.

There’s decent Legroom and comfortable seating positions, this unit was fitted Titanium Black leather seats that are powered and with memory function and head liner in storm grey, panoramic roof is a must have option forming part of these options:-

Keyless Entry and Electric tailgate
Mobile phone interface ‘Comfort’ with
inductive charging function
Active Info Display
Head-up Display.

230-V socket in luggage compartment
LED headlights with LED daytime running lights , dynamic cornering lights and fog lights.
Adaptive Cruise control with Front Assist.

Folding trailer hitch
Trailer assist system with Park Assist and Park Distance Control (Front and Rear) and Rearview Camera.

As a consumer you don’t necessarily need all these optional extras as prices can easily sky rocket if one is too generous by ticking the option box ,unless a consumer wants the car with all bells and whistles! Go wild and don’t hold back then, and have yourself a very well specced machine!

But how does it drive:-
Having a point of reference with the AllSpace I spent time with while back which was fitted with 19 inch mags and no R-Line kit, I could feel that the Tiguan with R-Line and on 20 inch rubber is little bit firmer on suspension, well it’s because when you tick the R-Line kit and 20inch alloys you also automatically get sporty suspension.

It would have been nice to have the Dynamic Chassis Control as an extra so that you can choose “comfort mode” should you not require the sporty suspension and want everything softened up, with all that said ,I daily a GTI so I’m used to the sportier firm suspension,I was just thinking from a consumer who might not want this type of firmer ride.

However do still tick the R-Line kit and thank me later! Because the kit brings the Tiguan into the future in design ,Volkswagen MQB platform is hard to fault with polished riding quality even when you throw in this SUV on winding roads, it’s never upset and tackles everything with assurance of an all wheel drive grip.

Even though it’s a diesel, you can hardly tell, it’s quiet whether on highway or on short city trips, it’s easy to live with type of a car, a perfect replacement should I one day get Rid of my Golf, I just have to decide if I want to go diesel or TSI? Or wait for the full blown Tiguan R then? Want is of a real phenomenon!

It’s a head turning SUV and I can say it’s one of the best designs to ever come out of Wolfsburg and I have seen the facelifted Tiguan and Volkswagen have taken the “don’t fix it if not broken design tweak approach” its more desirable than ever before and I foresee Volkswagen continuing with its success on this model.

For a customer who’s coming from hatchback style of driving design and now have family needs but still want to maintain that classy look! This is it!! Or someone who’s just futuristic and loves and embrace the SUV”s as they here to stay, you can sign on the dotted line!!

Now here’s a dilemma, do you wait for the facelift coming in our shores next year or do you go on and buy now, there’s no wrong answers here, as long as you promise me you will tick the R-Line kit and cherry on top and even better if you take the Black Styling package.

One of the best looking car In it’s segment and class by a very huge margin!
