The Mercedes AMG GTs, a car that pays hommage to two of the greatest legends in the automotive industry, that is the 300SL and SLS AMG Gullwing. The styling is quite reminiscent of the older cars, this elongated bonnet, low slung rear end, wide narrow windscreen, a very beautiful two door coupe. In front your greeted with the gorgeous Mercedes diamond grille with a very slim blade across the middle that is disturbed by a large Mercedes 3 point star in its centre, and a hardly noticeable AMG badge below the blade. Hop inside the cabin and the first thing you notice is how low down the driving position is, with this raised dashboard that makes up for a very sporty driving position. The cabin is beautifully layed out with premium materials all over such as leather, alcantara, and brushed aluminum. One last thing to note is that it takes quite a bit of getting used to the very long bonnet whilst behind the wheel.

The AMG GT is the second car to be solely designed and developed in house by AMG, and for that reason it is a brilliantly driving machine. Open up the bonnet and you find AMG's glorious 4.0L biturbo V8, pushing out 372KW and 670NM of torque, all to the rear wheels via AMG's speed shift double clutch 7 speed automatic transmission. It is quite a technically ingenious machine, double wishbone suspension for both front and rear, and the turbochargers along with the exhaust manifold have been placed within the cylinder banks to reduce turbo lag as much as possible. Contributing to the great feeling tail end is an electronically controlled mechanical differential. Oh and yeah, apply launch control, or 'Race Start' as it says on the driver cluster, and you will be hitting 100km/h in just 3.7s and it will keep on accelerating all the way to a top speed of 319 km/h. So what is my verdict, the AMG GTs is a phenomenally compliant and comfortable car, but push the right buttons and you will be feeling like Lewis Hamilton.
