The V8 F-Type is a beast with all the qualities of the V6S models. (read my review on the V6S Coupe models as most information from there applies to this vehicle)

The V8 encapsulates the the driving experience of the V6S with added punch. The torque is more instant, the handling is a bit more precise due to the AWD, the engine and exhaust sounds becomes even more theatrical. The pops and bangs are louder and longer. It is overall a hardcore version of the V6S. This makes an excellent track day car which can also be used as a daily driver. This vehicle does do away with the mechanical LSD found on the V6S but instead has an E-diff which still works very well. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Even though this is an AWD model, it still feels like a rear wheel drive. Majority of the power is still sent to the back wheels and power slides come easily. On the skid pan one could notice distinct handling differences between the rear wheel drive models and the AWD models. Both are able to perform slides but it is much more controllable the the AWD.

The only drawbacks of this car is that the fuel consumption is greater with daily driving and the extra power makes the car feel less smooth than the V6S.

This is a review of the SVR - (Its under the V8 R due to there being no section for this )
This review only applies to track use as I haven't been using this as a daily driver.

I am a huge fan of the F-type and have driven almost the entire range and owned 2. (read my other reviews posted) The SVR is the epitome of the F-Type. Its is a significant step up form the V8R. Stating specs and 0 -100 times does not do justice to this vehicle. It needs to be driven to be experienced. On the track it is mind blowing. A car that is designed to be a daily driver, offering all the comforts of a Jaguar and then turning into a tire eating animal on the track.

Highlights of this model over the others are numerous. The handling is incredibly predictable. It eats up the first corner on Kyalami Race Track with ease and just a hint of tail slip. Around other corners you can slide the rear end but stay balanced with very little body roll. You still feel connected and in full control. On the straight at high speeds (200kph+) the vehicle feels planted. Upon braking the carbon ceramics are solid with no brake fade after countless laps.

The car inspires you to push it further. You feel a strong connection with the track. Even though its predictable, stable and powerful it is not a dull drive. The exhaust note sounds barely road legal! As with the entire F-Type range, one could just want to buy the car for the theater of an exhaust. The whine of the supercharger is pronounced upon acceleration and adds to the fun. The AWD system still feels like driving a rear wheel drive but claws into corners when its needed.

I recommend driving this vehicle only if you are NOT planning to buy any of the other F-Types, as this sets the bar so high that you could feel underwhelmed with any other model! Ever heard of having an underwhelming drive in an F-type?!
