Borrowing its name from the successful motor racing tradition of NSU in the British Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) motorcycle race held on the Isle of Man in May/June every year and the most prestigious and one of the most dangerous race in the world.

NSU marque began competing at the Isle of Man TT in 1907 ,NSU was a manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles located in Neckarsulm Germany, Audi TT also follows the NSU 1000TT, 1200TT and TTS cars of the 1960s, Company founded in 1873.

After being bought by Volkswagen in 1969, the company was merged with Auto Union to become Audi NSU Auto Union AG and later Audi.


It’s been 22 years since the birth of Audi Tourist Trophy, with the 3rd Generation Produced from 2014, Audi TT is on it’s mid-cycle facelift, i call it MK3.5 Tourist Trophy.


From the start , it was the project’s aim to not only fill the gap of sportscar-shaped in the range that the Quattro had left in 1991, but to create something truly special.

Now with more sportier design ,The three dimensional Singleframe Hexagonal grille is much broader and flatter, It's no coincidence that the current TT styling evokes the Audi R8 supercar with short overhangs and a rounded roofline.

New full front splitter, new bumper and rear diffuser , S-Line package offers specific side sills , sculpted sill contour, also known as the dynamic line flows to create something special.

Matrix Headlights with LED daylight running as optional with front and back dynamic turning signals, brake light is a a subtle strip on the edge of the luggage compartment cover to create functional great ambience at night while braking.


At 120 km/h an electrically powered spoiler extends from the luggage compartment cover, The spoiler retracts again when the speed falls below 80 km/h , no fuel cap underneath the tank flap in the classic TT design, the driver can insert the gas pump nozzle directly into the port.


Using the Volkswagen Group MQB platform , combination of steel and aluminum in its body , aluminium front fenders, side sections, roof, engine hood, doors and tailgate, total of 15.5 kilograms savings over steel.

Powered by 169KW/370NM EA888 2.0TFSI engine mated to smooth shifting 6 speed S-tronic box that sends power to the front, a 45TFSI in Audi”s new nomenclature, 0 to 100km/ in manufacturer claimed 5.9s.

On the inside you will find the as standard driver oriented Virtual Cockpit , a 12.3-inch-wide LCD panel that displays the car's gauges, Satellite Navigation ,all infotainment and cars information with a resolution of 1440 x 540 pixels.

The system is run by a quad-core Tegra 3 Series processor from Nvidia that generates 60 frames per second and performs 8 billion calculations per second.

One of the greatest innovations at Volkwagen group first made its debut Audi TT,same year featuring in a Lamborghini Huracan in 2014 , the screen puts everything to digital perspective including Android Auto Apple CarPlay music display.

On inside there’s S-Line scuffplates in each side of the door also with added aluminium trims on centre console and handles , 680W and 14 channels Bang and Olufsen stereo, a park assist package with rear view camera and front to back park distance control is projected on Virtual Cockpit.

Multifunctional steering wheel which allows the configuration of all the inputs whether its navigation, music or going through the cars profiles, you can also excess that Information via the MMI Navigation Plus touch pad rotary switch on centre console that even allows you to scribble words on it.

Air vents are designed to mimick the appearance of the jet engines and everything incorporated on the air blower itself,including the optional seat warmers that were specced on this unit.

A luggage compartment volume of 305 litres and 712 litres when the rear seats folded.

But how does is drive:- it’s agile body allows handling that is both dynamic and precise, all thanks to the pivot bearings and subframe of the McPherson front suspension are made of aluminium.

Rear suspension uses four steel links per wheel in order to process the longitudinal and lateral forces separately,springs and dampers are separate from one another and respond in a dynamic manner.

Progressive steering results in easy maneuvering that is agile in handling with Wheel-selective torque control,activated in fast cornering and improves handling as necessary by means of very slight brake interventions on the unloaded wheels on the inside of a curve.

This above was tested extensively in a mountain pass and I can confirm that there is grip for days,you feel in control in that light and agile body of the Tourist Trophy.


You free to choose your mode of driving via Audi Select From Dynamic which is Sport mode in simple terms and that changes how the car responds to you inputs in steering and the sensitivity of the accelerator response, you can also choose the comfort mode where the Dampers soften the ride quality when it feels more agile on your back.

You have the Economic/Efficiency mode when you are determined to save fuel and I could achieve a lowest of 6.7L/100km travelled while I as testing functionality of that mode and that’s a brilliant for a performance oriented car which is sharing its engine with S3 and GTI.

Yes can still opt for Normal Driving/Auto mode in Audi terms and individual setting where you can select and mix your driving profile requirements via Audi Drive Select.

Verdict:- Covered almost 800km during my time spent with TT and each drive was enjoyable and sporty with huge amount of stare and thumbs up on the road,must be that new striking Turbo Blue Paintwork.

Premium quality interior unmistakable Audi, sports car thrill without damaging your pocket, and you will think you driving an R8 because of the attention you getting on the road, Audi Tourist Trophy MK3.5 is a whole want, I could live with it over the period of testing and that’s important.
