Prior to its reveal at the Goodwood Festival of Speed today, BMW has revealed the BMW M Performance Parts Concept – essentially their most hardcore concept based on the BMW M2.

The model is said to showcase the full potential of the M Performance division, whilst previewing some of their forthcoming accessories.

The exterior has been treated to a variety of carbon-fibre bodyparts, including a bootlid and a sportier rear diffuser, each yielding a saving of 5kgs and 0.5kgs respectively. Up front there are carbon-fibre kidneys as well as a carbon-fibre bonnet that saves 8kgs over the standard item. Even the roof is carbon-fibre, saving a further 6kgs, whilst the 19-inch M Performance forged Y-spoke 763M alloys – painted in Frozen Gold – were recently seen on the M2 Competition with German Design.

On the inside, there is loads of carbon-fibre and Alcantara on offer, while the carbon-fibre front seats save 9kgs and the rears save a further 13kgs. Under the skin has seen some action too, with the installation of an M Performance coilover setup. This can lower the car by 20mm, and has 12 different compression settings and 16 rebound settings to play around with. A special battery is also implemented to save a further 14kg.

BMW declined to mention performance specifications, but claims the Concept is a track-focused model that has shed a whole 60kgs off the BMW M2 Coupé, which no doubt improves performance and driving dynamics. As mentioned, the car will bow at Goodwood today and will contest the famous hillclimb as well.
