Hyundai i30 N in South Africa – 5 Things You Need To Know

Hyundai has confirmed its GTI-rivalling i30 N is finally on its way to South Africa. Here are five things you need to know about it, including pricing.

#1: It’s going to be rare. Apparently Hyundai will only be bringing 50 units of the Hyundai i30 N to South Africa. To make things even more exclusive, they will only be available from 12 dealerships.

#2: It will be available from January 2020. A local Hyundai executive revealed the launch date earlier this year, confirming that the local launch will take place in the first quarter of 2020.

#3: It’s quick. The i30 N is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine which is capable of producing a maximum of 202kW of power and 353Nm of torque. To put that into perspective for you, the Golf GTI only makes 169kW of power and 350Nm of torque.

#4: It’s going to be fun to drive. The i30 N will employ a 6-speed manual gearbox to send its power to the front-wheels. There is also a host of handling, suspension and drivetrain upgrades to ensure that its every bit as lethal on the track or road.

#5: It’s coming in at a decent price. We expect the Hyundai i30 N to arrive in South Africa with a price tag of around R699,900.
