The “RS” has always been a good bike but never outstanding, this has certainly changed with the launch of the Austin Yellow Metallic version of the Sports Tourer that was presented at the media launch in Mpumalanga, The new engine has definitely awakened the snazzy side of this elegant machine now giving it the performance to play with 4-cylinder super bikes on any breakfast run. The redesigned front end and screen gives a less bulky feel while still offering good wind protection in high or low settings. Riding position is not as crouched as on most superbikes and in conjunction with the broad torque range of the variable camshaft engine, makes high speed touring a breeze. The boxer motor punches strongly out of the corners. The Dynamic ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) available on all the R1250 models adapts effortlessly to different road surfaces, loads and riding styles. The Riding Mode presets manage the engine power characteristics, braking and traction control (utilizing lean angle sensors) to preselected Rain, Road or Dynamic riding conditions.
