Audi South Africa has confirmed that the facelifted version of the third-generation Audi TT will indeed be coming to South Africa. The facelift comes just in time to refresh the sports car, bringing design tweaks to the interior and exterior, along with performance boosts and a more extensive list of standard kit to bring it more in line with their existing product offering.

The exterior design is a lot more aggressive compared to the pre-facelift model. The air-inlets up front are more prominent, really highlighting the width of the TT, while a selection of horizontal lines and the dual exhaust pipes at the rear complete the sporty look, reminescent of the Audi R8 V10. The new LED head and taillights with dynamic turn signals are now standard kit, while buyers can add matrix LED lights as an optional extra. The new optional S-Line exterior package pushes the sporty envelope even further by adding vertical air-inlets, a blacked out grille and a full-length front splitter to the front of the sports car. A wider diffuser, along with vertical air-inlets complete the S-Line package at the rear. Buyers can also now choose from five new 19” alloy wheel designs, as well as three new exterior colours: Cosmos Blue, Pulse Orange and the S-Line exclusive Turbo Blue.

The interior of the Audi TT carries its driver focused feel from its predecessor as well as buyer-favourites like the optional Audi Virtual Cockpit and sporty, round gear knob. Features like Audi Drive Select, Audi Smartphone Interface, parking aid plus, electrically adjustable seats and a multifunction steering wheel are now standard kit on the sports car. Sport seats with integrated headrests are standard on the Audi TT, while optional sports seats with electrically adjustable side bolsters are optionally available.

In terms of powertrains, the Audi TT will be available in two flavours. The entry-level Audi TT 45 TFSI will produce 169kW of power sent to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, while the current range-topper will feature the 228kW four-cylinder 2.0-litre engine from the Audi S3 mated to a 6-speed S Tronic transmission with close-ratio lower gears that enable quicker acceleration.
