The Audi RS Q8 has landed in SA
After much wait, the most powerful Audi SUV has landed in South Africa. Yes, the all-powerful Audi RS Q8, will feature an outstanding biturbo V8 petrol engine. Audi has never offered a large SUV coupe in an RS model, making the RS Q8 the first in history and with a whopping 441kW, what a way to make an entry.
So, what does this beastly RS Q8 pack under the hood, well it gets a 4.0 litre V8 biturbo engine that will, as mention before, produce 441kW and 800 Nm of torque. This biturbo V8 engine will come paired with a mild-hybrid system (MHEV) which is based on a 48-volt main electrical system. The RS Q8 will get a quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system and a standard eight-speed Tiptronic transmission.
As expect from all Audi RS models is its dual exhaust system that features an impressive oval tailpipe on each side. From here, the driver will be able to have control over the engine’s sound through the Audi drive select system. Another standard will be the RS sport exhaust system with black tailpipe trims which will offer an even sportier sound. The RS Q8 will come standard with adaptive air suspension sport with controlled damping which means that the new RS Q8 is capable both on the racetrack and off-road.

At the rear, we can expect the RS roof edge spoiler with an RS-specific rear skirt with a diffuser and high gloss black RS-typical oval tailpipes. The RS Q8 will be available in nine colours: one solid paint finish and eight metallic or pearl effect shades. The exterior mirror housings will come with an aluminium look and will include black or carbon available as options. Standard on the RQ 8 will be tinted HD Matrix LED headlights that have three-dimensional daytime running lights. In terms of wheels the RS Q8 will come standard with 23-inch aluminium wheels in a 5 Y-spoke rotor design with 295/35-series tyres. Behind these large wheels will be an RS brake system. 10-inch piston calipers are painted red will to come standard on the RS Q8.
Inside, the RS Q8 will get sport seats in Valcona leather with honeycomb pattern. The RS styling package will include red contrasting stitching on the knee pads, steering wheel rim, floor mats, selector lever, and on the edges of the seat belts. The centre console, selector lever, and steering wheel will be covered in Alcantara while the upper side of the instrument panel including head-up display cover, door panels, and armrests in the doors get finished in black Fine Nappa leather. As expected, the RS Q8 will come with the Audi virtual cockpit and MMI display that will provide information on things such as tyre pressure, torque, output, temperature, lap times, and g-forces.
